Doctor honoris causa (dr.h.c.)

The Honorary Degree Doctor honoris causa (dr. h.c.) is awarded to experts who have demonstrated outstanding contributions in the fields of science, art, culture, philosophy, social sciences, medicine or other areas of human activity. This degree is a sign of appreciation for experts in the field.

The Honorary Degree of Doctor honoris causa (dr.h.c.) is awarded by the Dean of the Faculty on the proposal of the committee for awarding Doctorates honoris causa (dr.h.c.). The committee for awarding honorary Doctorates honoris causa (dr.h.c.) consists of five members and when considering a candidate for an honorary degree, it will consider, among other things, the publication activities, the current results of the candidate, but also contribution to the knowledge of the contemporary World.

Honorary Degree dr.h.c. may be granted:

  • For outstanding contribution and achievements in terms of international scale, namely in the field of development of economic science, management, public administration,
  • For outstanding contributions and achievements in terms of culture or to persons who have otherwise contributed to the welfare of humanity.

A candidate for the Honorary Degree of dr.h.c. submits an application together with attachments. The rules for awarding an honorary degree are given in the set Methodology for awarding the honorary Degree of Doctor honoris causa (dr.h.c.) at the Faculty of Administration and Economic Studies in Uherské Hradiště (in Czech language only).
